WHAT WE DO
Today, the Home houses around 150 boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 18. It is one of the few destitute homes with an in-campus school. The MRT1 Lady Nye Special School has classes from 1 to 12. The School, recognised by the State Government and partially funded by it, plays an important role in moulding the children. Housemothers and staff working full time contribute greatly to the smooth functioning of the school.

SEVA SAMAJAM CHILDREN'S HOME
The growth and development of Seva Samajam Children’s Home deserves special mention. Beginning with the donation of a building to function as a School, in the early 70’s, the Madras Round Table No. 1 followed it up with the donation of a three storied dormitory block in 1975, and an additional floor in the class room block in 1992. Besides donation of buildings, library books, play equipment and mattresses MRT-I has arranged for the sponsorship of maintenance expenses of a number of children.
Seva Samajam is committed to caring for the homeless and underprivileged children and helping them to step out from a life of menial labour, poverty and despair into a bright new world of dignity, opportunity and hope.
The Seva Samajam Children’s Home will continue to work with zeal and vigour in its mission of providing shelter, succour and education to destitute children and moulding and shaping them into proud citizens of tomorrow.
